Abstract
A modified form of the hypernetted-chain (HNC) equation is found that is suitable for the calculation of the pair-correlation function of a classical plasma. The changed equation involves only the short-range screened Coulomb potential and uses no further approximations than are involved in the ordinary HNC equation. The pair-correlation function is computed for a variety of one-component classical plasmas in the region of a dense fluid. Keywords
