Abstract
The strong linear polarizations of the deexcitation rays from the reaction at 60 MeV were measured using a Ge(Li) two-crystal Compton polarimeter. Previous experiments with this reaction resulted in the identification of a side band feeding into the known and states via two dipolar rays from states with spins 5 and 7 and with energies of 996 and 399 keV, respectively. These two dipole transitions were found to be . Several other known quadrupole transitions were found to be . Thus we assign odd parity to the levels at 2538 keV (), 2878 keV (), and 3344 keV (). The feasibility of such measurements with this polarimeter is discussed.
