Pulse slicing with Pockels cell shutters

Abstract
An electro-optical shutter, consisting of one Pockels cell between a pair of crossed polarisers is described which slices out two pulses of independently variable pulse widths and variable delay between them from an incident laser beam. The authors also report on a Pockels cell shutter arrangement to slice out single subnanosecond pulses.Keywords
