Abstract
Chromatographic characterization of stationary liquids and solutes by means of characteristic data capable of being obtained with the aid of the retention-index system, is a valuable aid in laboratory practice. Approximation in the index system is easy to comprehend and use; however, its accuracy is limited. The multiple parameter system of linear combination increases accuracy to a significant degree, albeit at the expense of greater computational effort. The tabulated data facilitate selection of column and identification on the basis of chromatographic retention data.
