Abstract
2500 turbidity reducing units of testicular hyaluronidase increased the speed of passage of fluid and of the dye T-1824 across the capillary wall in male albino rats. The dye and edema accumulated in the extremities and nose, ears, mouth and tongue. The plasma concn. of T-1824 was significantly reduced. These effects were obtained within 5 minutes and were completely gone in 24 hrs. Purified hyaluronidase was equally active, but heat-inactivated hyaluronidase, bovine plasma albumin and histamine failed to produce equivalent changes. Keywords
