A Fifth Allelomorph in the Agouti Series of the House Mouse

Abstract

Black-and-tan mice, imported from England, carry an allelomorph to yellow, to the 2 agouti factors, and to non-agouti. The factor was dominant to non-agouti, but recessive to the other three. The author had previously described black-and-tan mice which were due to multiple modifying factors acting on yellow. He has now decided to designate these as "black-backed yellows.".
