Resonant Helices and Their Application to Magnetic Resonance

Abstract
We show that helices can be used as resonant systems. We describe resonant helices for electron paramagnetic resonance in X‐bands and develop a comparison between their sensitivity and the sensitivity of a normal resonant cavity. For cylindrical samples less than 3 mm diam, the helix is more sensitive and can produce more intense microwave magnetic fields.
