Abstract
Endemic urinary lithiasis is a clinical entity with certain well-defined characteristics. A series of 119 consecutive cases which were seen at the Hacettepe Children''s Hospital in Ankara have been reported and discussed. The etiology of the disease is not known, but it is likely that a protein deficiency is the most important factor in a complex mechanism of stone formation. As the standard of living rises the disease will probably disappear. Keywords
