Abstract
A modified single balloon technique was used in addition to a graduated tube to study transportation in the colon of trained, cecostomized dogs. Propulsion of a bolus in the colon seemed to be intimately related to the first half of a type III active period. The rate of bolus transportation decreased from proximal to distal colon indicating that the transportation efficiency of an active period is greatest in the most proximal segments. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
