Experience with Ceramic Implants Applied to Replantation and Homotransplantation of Teeth

Abstract
Recently, traumatic injuries of teeth are increasing because of sports, traffic accidents and changes in life style. Those injuries appear frequently in teenagers and at ___- portion. The complete luxated teeth can be replanted, but the roots of replanted teeth will be resorpted at early stages in the case of bad conditions. Some injured teeth are crushed or missing, and these teeth can not be replanted, and prothodontic treatment or implants are required. This time, we applied homotransplantation to such cases. But, it is said that the homotransplanted teeth will fall off or be resorpted in 4 to 6 years. Therefore, bioceram anchor pins were applied to replantation and homotransplantation of teeth for preservation. We report our experience with ceramic implants applied to replantation and homotransplantation of teeth. Case 1 is a 13-year-old male patient, who came to our dental clinic 12 hours after injuring his central incisor. The deciduous tooth which was strengthened by bioceram anchor pin was replanted. Case 2 is a 10-year-old female patient, who came to our clinic and complained that two teeth shedded and one of the two was missing. The deciduous tooth was replanted and a tooth which had been preserved at -20℃ was transplanted in compensation for the missing tooth. Bioceram anchor pins were applied to both the replanted and homotransplanted teeth.
