Hypercalcemia without Hypercalcuria or Hypophosphatemia, Calcinosis and Renal Insufficiency

Abstract
BECAUSE of our interest in the parathyroid glands our attention has been directed to a number of diseases with which primary hyperparathyroidism may be confused. These include acute osteoporosis,1 hypervitaminosis D,2 3 4 sarcoidosis,5 , 6 myelomatosis,6 7 8 carcinomatosis with extensive bone involvement,6 polyostotic fibrous dysplasia,9 renal osteitis fibrosa generalisata10 and osteomalacia.10 By clinical and laboratory observations it is usually possible to differentiate these conditions from primary hyperparathyroidism.
