THE EFFECT OF ZINC ADMINISTRATION UPON REPRODUCTION AND GROWTH IN THE ALBINO RAT, TOGETHER WITH A DEMONSTRATION OF THE CONSTANT CONCENTRATION OF ZINC IN A GIVEN SPECIES, REGARDLESS OF AGE

Abstract
Adult rats were given 4.4-12.4 mgm. daily of zinc malate, acetate, or citrate for 29 weeks. Growth and reproduction were studied and later analysis made of various organs to determine total Zn content. No significant effect upon the health or fertility of the parents or upon the early growth of the offspring was observed. Storage of Zn above the normal was not found.
