No detailed sea-water temperatures have been previously available for Victorian onshore waters. Continuous temperature monitoring at Pt Lonsdale, May 1966 to May 1969, has shown a maximum monthly average of less than 20°C and a minimum of approximately 10°C, which is indicative of cold temperate waters.
