Abstract
This paper describes the mounting of a high performance, far‐infrared, three‐part bolometer designed to permit its use directly in a helium bath. It can be matched with low loss to any optical system or to a waveguide. Optimal performance and constant characteristics have been obtained; D (at 4 K and 20 Hz) = 1.4×1012 W−1⋅cm⋅Hz(1/2) and more than 30 cooling cycles have been made without the seals leaking. Keywords
