Sq-Field in the Polar Region on Absolutely Quiet Days

Abstract
It is proved by analyzing geomagnetic data on the quietest days during the Second Polar Year that the S-field over the whole surface of the earth on the absolutely quiet days which are defined as the days when ΣKp=0 can be well represented by the extension of the Sq-field which has been defined by Chapman for the interzonal region of the earth. The S-field on the absolutely quiet days defined here will be called the S0q-field.
