Abstract
High-resolution x-ray and ultraviolet photoemission spectroscopies have been applied to study the initial formation of the Cr- and Cu-polyimide interfaces. A model for the growth modes of these two interfaces is proposed based on comparison of experimental results with trends derived from quantum-chemical calculations. Keywords
