Effects of N-allylnormorphine on Cholinesterases

Abstract
The inhibitions of the cholinesterases of mouse brain, bovine erythrocytes and horse serum produced by N-allylnormorphine were, measured and compared to the inhibitions produced by morphine. N-allylnormorphine is at least as potent an inhibitor as morphine. The implications of this finding for the theory of morphine action are discussed.
