Changes in the short-circuit current across the frog bladder have been used to indicate activity of neurohypophysial peptides. Single 2X2 assays gave a mean error of 25%. This method is useful for assaying crude extracts containing small amounts of the hormones as it is reasonably specific and highly sensitive to neurohypophysial peptides especially Arg - vasotocin.
