Dr. W. Ray Bryan: The National Cancer Institute has quite a large program, both extramurally and intramurally, directed toward the study of the possible viral etiology of human cancer; that is, towards the determination of whether or not viruses might be involved in human neoplastic diseases. As you know, it is necessary to carry out the basic studies on animal prototype systems or prototype diseases.
