Abstract
Control of tropical rat mites (Ornithonyssus bacoti) without appreciable change in the physiology of laboratory hamsters (Mesocricetus auratus) was achieved by painting the tray below each cage with 2% chlordane emulsion. Freshly washed cages were sprayed with 0.3% pyrethrins- 1.5% piperonyl butoxide solution. Control on hamsters not involved in long-term experiments was achieved by dusting animals with 0.11% lindane - 1.91% methoxychlor. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
