Histology of the Mouse Incisor

Abstract
Ten CAF-1 male mice, 300 days old, were used to study the normal histogenesis, rate of eruption and turnover time of the mouse maxillary incisor. A significant structural similarity exists between the maxillary incisor of the mouse and the rat. The turnover time of the mouse incisor is about the same. The only notable difference is in size. The average eruption rate of the mouse incisor is 1 mm/wk., and it replaces itself in about 50 days.
