Abstract
In order to obtain an insight into the surface potential distribution of the maternal electrocardiogram (MECG) on the abdomen during pregnancy, a simulation model is set up. As a function of the shape of the abdomen and the internal conduction difference between uterus and surroundings, the surface potentials are calculated on a ring at the umbilicus level for the x, y, and z components of the maternal heart vector. Keywords
