Abstract
The rat pancreatic duct was occluded for 2, 7 and 28 days, respectively, after the bile duct was transposed to another portion of the duodenum. Pancreatic duct occlusion significantly inhibited cholesterol absorption only after 48 hours. Lipid absorption varied as did that of cholesterol. Complete pancreatectomy inhibited cholesterol absorption moderately. Feeding of dried pancreatic tissue failed to enhance the absorption of cholesterol. Keywords
