Abstract
Examination of 408 individuals of the Masai tribe in Kenya revealed only 38 dental cavities, an average of but 0.09 cavities per mouth. These people eat a high protein, low carbohydrate diet. Marginal gingivitis and salivary calculus have high rates as a result of a lack of oral hygiene. Keywords
