Abstract
Data has been produced to support a hypothesis that high consumption of natural starchy carbohydrates, taken with their full complement of fiber, is protective against hyperlipidemia and IHD. Experiments in animals and man may be interpreted to support a suggestion that dietary fiber decreases the reabsorption of bile salts, increases fecal excretion, and reduces hyperlipidemia.Keywords
