Estimations of Plasma Position and βp+li/2 from Magnetic Measurements under High-β Conditions in JET-2

Abstract
The MHD equilibria of a high-β plasma are studied by carring out magnetic measurements in JFT-2. Equilibrium configurations agreeing well with the experimental results are obtained by numerical calculations, and βp, in the NB injection phase is estimated. Using these calculated equilibrium configurations, two methods of estimating R p and βp+l i/2 from magnetic probe signals are also discussed, and the Fourier analysis method is shown to give a more accurate value of R p and βp+l i/2 even under high-β conditions.
