Abstract
This report has described a manipulandum for use with profoundly retarded children. It is similar to Symmes' (1963) manipulandum for kittens in that it does not require shaping of the movement. The device is built with inexpensive hardware and a tether ball. We have obtained stable rates, e.g., 40 per min. on FR-20 with M & M reinforcers.
