Renal clearance of plasma cortisol was studied by measuring total and ultrafiltrable plasma cortisol simultaneously with glomerular filtration rate and urinary cortisol excretion. The findings were consistent with the interpretation that at normal plasma level*, 80-90 per cent of the filtered cortisol is reabsorbed by the renal tubules.
