Abstract
The authors attempted to repeat the excellent results in the treatment of severe frostbite with heparin that have been reported by Lange et al. The expts. were performed on 233 male albino rabbits of which one hind leg was subjected to frostbite. Two standardized levels of injury were used and the results analyzed statistically. No beneficial influence of heparin on the outcome of frostbite injury was observed. Keywords
