Physiological Disposition of Heparin.

Abstract
The distribution and clearance of injected heparin was studied in the dog by means of radioactive heparin-S35. After intravenous administration this substance is rapidly removed from the bloodstream and highest uptake occurs in the liver and lungs. However, the loss from the tissues is comparatively rapid so that no measurable amount of radioactivity is detected in any organ after 48 hours.
