Abstract
The material consists of 128 lesions in the head and neck, 52 of which were salivary—gland lesions. A Millipore—filter technique was used in collecting cyto—logical material. With this technique it is, on the other hand, possible to collect even very scanty amounts of cellular material, and, on the other, preservation of cells and good staining properties are ensured. So far, histological verification has been performed in 62 of these cases. As to malignancy, false positive diagnoses were made in 2.3 per cent and false negative diagnoses in 5.5 per cent of the cases. Keywords
