Abstract
SINCE the last Medical Progress report on cardiac arrhythmias appeared in this Journal1 knowledge concerning these conditions has increased at least as much as during any comparable period in the past. Clinically, new syndromes have been observed, new etiologic factors established, and new therapeutic methods introduced. Interest in the clinical arrhythmias has been intensified by the realization that certain disorders formerly believed irreversible can now be cured. Paralleling and contributing to these clinical advances, significant progress has been made in the field of animal experimentation. The availability of new investigative methods has facilitated experimental study of the mechanisms underlying arrhythmias . . .Keywords
