Abstract
An analytical solution to the problem of the kinetics of reactions on polymer chains has been derived. The solution is generally applicable within the following limits: (1) only nearest-neighbor interactions are considered, (2) the initial state of the polymer is taken to be completely unreacted (i.e., initial arbitrary sequences of reacted and unreacted sites cannot be handled). However, autocatalytic, autoinhibitory, or mixed catalytic-inhibitory systems can be handled. Keywords
