Abstract
Summary A new strain of mammalian Toxoplasma (to which the human strain produced cross-immunity) was studied in more than 20 ducks and 50 canaries. The invasion of avian erythrocytes by Toxoplasma is herewith reported for the first time. Both the avian and the mammalian blood was infective for egg embryos, causing the development on the corio-allantoic membranes of typical lesions in which the parasites were accumulated.
