Fetal Hemoglobin-containing Erythrocytes I. Counts of Cells Stained by the Acid Elution Method Compared with Alkali Denaturation Measurements

Abstract
Red blood cells containing fetal hemoglobin were studied quantitatively in films of peripheral blood by the method of acid elution. Compared to data from the alkali-denaturation method, the results had a correlation of +.79, with a tendency to higher readings with the acid elution method.
