Inactivation of Influenza Virus with Sulfur and Nitrogen Mustards

Abstract
Influenza virus was rendered noninfectious for mice by in vitro exposure to relatively high concs. of sulfur and nitrogen mustards. Concs. of the mustards that abol- ished infectivity did not reduce the ability of the virus to agglutinate erythrocytes. The parenteral administration of nitrogen mustard had no effect on the course of infection with influenza virus in mice.
