Abstract
Recent breakthroughs in the application of information theory have demonstrated great increases in capacity by deploying multiple transmitting and multiple receiving antennas compared to conventional single antenna systems. An experimental verification of the theoretical capacity prediction is presented. The propagation study was performed in a controlled free-space environment. The near field capacity was measured and modelled. Measurement results match very well with the theory. Keywords
