Abstract
65 samples of sound dentin had an avg. citric acid content of 888 [plus or minus] 103 mg. %, 129 samples of carious dentin had 872 [plus or minus] 105 mg. %, 39 samples of sound enamel had an avg. citric acid content of 100.5 [plus or minus] 22.9 mg. %, and 83 samples of carious enamel had 98.7 [plus or minus] 26.3 mg. %. The citric acid content of dentin and enamel of human teeth does not appear to be related to either caries or to tooth type. Keywords
