Cyclosporine and Recombinant Granulocyte Colony-Stimulating Factor in Severe Aplastic Anemia

Abstract
Patients with severe and refractory aplastic anemia who cannot be offered bone marrow transplantation and who do not respond to antilymphocyte globulin therapy represent a difficult therapeutic problem. We tried combined therapy with recombinant human granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF)* and cyclosporine in four patients with very severe aplastic anemia who had not responded to immunosuppressive therapy with antilymphocyte globulin and high-dose methylprednisolone.
