Relation of Anemia and Hemorrhagic Shock to Experimental Ulcer Production.

Abstract
The relationships of posthemorrhagic anemia and shock to gastro-intestinal ulcer susceptibility to histamine in beeswax were studied in a group of dogs. Anemia and hemodilution occur-ring without shock was a mild ulcer abetting factor. However, shock occurring uncomplicated by anemia increased ulcer susceptibility to a greater degree and the combined effects of shock and anemia gave the highest ulcer incidence.
