The Ascorbic Acid Content of the Saliva of Carious and Noncarious Individuals

Abstract
Ascorbic acid was detd. in saliva by the colorimetric method of Roe and Keuther. The avg. value for 31 noncarious individuals was 0.21 mg. % and for 54 individuals with caries, 0.17 mg. %. The difference is not statistically significant. No correlation was found between ascorbic acid content and age, or the number of carious surfaces.Keywords
