Abstract
In C–H ⋯ O hydrogen bonds, the average C ⋯ O and H ⋯ O separations depend on the nature of the acceptor O atoms: they obey the trends observed as for the conventional O–H and N–H donors, with a ranking of acceptor strengths CO > NO2 > SO > C–OH > C–O–C.Keywords
