Abstract
Anterior hypothalamic lesions in the rat do not interfere with the response of the thyroid gland to thyrotropin. The failure of a goitrogenic response to propylthiouracil administration in such animals therefore probably represents an inability of the pituitary sufficiently to augment its secretion of thyrotropin. Keywords
