Abstract
Administration of streptokinase for a period of hours did not prevent or abolish leucocytic sticking initiated by heat injury. Likewise, depletion of all chemically detectable fibrinogen from the circulation of rabbits with an infusion of thromboplastin, thrombin, and Varidase did not prevent or abolish the reaction. These findings were interpreted as evidence against a primary role of the blood clotting mechanism as a cause for the sticking of white blood cells to injured endothelium. Keywords
