Abstract
Asymptomatic microscopic hematuria is a prevalent condition that requires urologic evaluation. Complete assessment must include non-urologic conditions. Of 246 patients reviewed, 10% had a urologic neoplasm, while 12% had other significant urologic lesions. Of the patients, 51% had no urologic abnormality discovered and 27% had insignificant urologic findings in which the relationship to microhematuria is questionable. A method of following patients with unexplained microhematuria that may clarify the implications of this disorder is proposed. This publication has 6 references indexed in Scilit:
