Abstract
The effectiveness of guanethidine ophthalmic solution 5% as treatment for endocrine exophthalmos was tested in seven patients in a 14-day double-blind study. The drug produced statistically significant ptosis in three of the seven patients and decreased intraocular pressure in four. Five percent guanethidine solution appears to be a useful agent in the treatment of this difficult ophthalmic disease. Keywords
