Abstract
The algebra of level splitting discovered by Biedenharn and Gamba is developed for the case SU(2) × SU(2)⊃SU(2). This is the physically interesting case to which much of conventional angular momentum theory is addressed. The interrelations of the two approaches are discussed in detail.Keywords
