The polarisation of electrons elasticity scattered from xenon at low energies

Abstract
The spin polarisation of electrons elastically scattered from a xenon atomic beam has been measured at scattering angles between 30 and 120 degrees at collision energies between 50 and 300 eV. The results are properly described by present theories at energies clearly above 100 eV. As the energy decreases, discrepancies between theory and experiment rapidly increase, resulting in an unsatisfactory situation at energies below 100 eV.
