Abstract
Two samples of white rice, two samples of milled rice, "raw" and "parboiled," and whole ground millet were found to be poor sources of vitamin B2. On a basal diet complete except for vitamin B2, rats did not consistently develop skin symptoms. Diets containing 65% white hominy grits and 50% whole rice respectively did not cure the symptoms of pellagra. The identity of vitamin B2 and the P-P factor is questioned and discussed.
