Abstract
A charge-exchange optical-pumping experiment to measure the K+K+ charge-exchange cross section in a He buffer gas has been performed. K+ ions are polarised by charge-exchange collisions with optically pumped K atoms. The value of the charge-exchange cross section sigma ce(K+-K) at thermal energy is measured to be (5.4+or-0.8)*10-14 cm2.Keywords
